Getting your Network working right... |
| Networking at home whether it be wireless or wired continues to be one of our biggest demands for call outs as more and more people connect to Broadband. Networking a house will normally require a visit to ascertain the network layout, type of property, number & locations of PCs to be connected/shared. In the case of wired network systems each PC is connected by way of an Ethernet cable to a router. | |
| Ethernet cables are available off the shelf in many lengths or we can make up the cable for you to the required length up to 50 Metres. One option which we have used for many network installations are "Home Plugs" which plug into your power sockets and can provide connections throughout the house. Alternatively a wireless network (that work well in modern constructions, but are temperamental in older houses) requires a wireless router together with a built in or additional wireless adapter for each PC/Laptop. There are different adapters to use dependant on factors such as the range between the router and PC, the age of the PC (& operating System, XP or Vista etc...). We can assist you in the best way to network your home and the best type of adapter to work with your existing devices. If you want us to help just give us a call on 01756 751770 or email us on support@pcnetlogic.com | |
| Annoying Power Cuts & Unexpected Router Lock Ups! |
|
| We have had many calls from customers who after having a power cut in their area have struggled to get an internet connection up & running again. The first port of call is to turn off the router then turn off your PC. Leave well alone for 5 minutes before turning the router back on. Leave a further 2 minutes before turning the PC on in the normal way. This will in most circumstances will fix the problem unless the power cut has damaged the router or reset the router. In this case just give us a call and we will arrange a call out to check the router an if necessary install a replacement if it has been damaged by the power surge. |

| Stopping Old Arncliffe Phone Number & Rising Fuel Prices! |
|
| We are now coming to our first anniversary following our move to Grassington. Our customer base has increased to just under 1000 customers which we feel is phenomenal growth over our first 6 years of trading!. As ever we appreciate your custom and your loyalty and welcome any feedback to increase the level of service that we can offer to you. Many of our original customers will remember our old phone number that we had when we were based in Arncliffe, (this due to technical reasons at the exchange) this will stop working very soon. Please can you update your contacts or phone book & use the 01756 751770 number from now on to contact us, thank you. | |
| Unfortunately given the increase in energy & fuel prices it is with regret that we have had to increase our travel charges to you. This has also affected some of our shop prices as a knock on effect following higher running costs & inflated delivery charges from our suppliers. We are however endeavoring to keep this increase to a minimum. | |
|
Whilst you are on Holiday why not let us service your PC? |

| We also provide a backup service following a number of recent hard drive failures where data had not been backed up and important data lost. We can advise on the best hard drive for your requirements. | |
